Bet9ja Gets Hacked

Bet9ja, a popular betting company in Nigeria, has encountered a cybersecurity attack shutting out users from accessing the platform. An update to this effect was made by the company days after its website went offline and consumers had complained of difficulties in accessing the platform. As at the time of this report, it is yet to be disclosed when the hacking took place and the duration.

The nature of Bet9ja’s business, which is attractive to the young population, leads to the processing of large amount of data; hence its information security management system is expected to be tight and prompt response made to any security attack.
